I'm Becca and I'm soooo stoked that you found us.

I founded Pocket Beanies after my partner couldn't find a retro fleece beanie that matched his style for his Japan trip. I looked hard, but couldn't find any that came in modern colors or subtle prints. So I thought, hey, I'll figure out the pattern and make one for him.

As a clothing designer-turned-entrepreneur, I saw this as an opportunity to reignite my "maker-self", minus the corporate pressure. I tinkered around, figured out the pattern, dialed in the fit, and found a cool, modern print at the only local fabric store.

My partner LOVED IT, and the first beanie was on it's way to Japan! Then, friends started asking how they could also get one. I thought, "sweet, what's a few more?"

Suddenly POCKET BEANIES was born.

As for the story behind the name? Once upon a time, some friends called me 'pocket'. That's it really! It just stuck and it's kind of cute.

While the beanies are made using virgin polyester fleece, my goal is to soon source recycled fleece. I'm also tinkering with ways to use the scraps/odds-and-ends to create some fun gear. Stay tuned!
